Nicky is a pioneer in corporate responsibility, having spearheaded The Body Shop’s corporate responsibility strategy in the 1990s and early 2000s before moving on to catalyse and lead a series of major sustainability programmes and initiatives including the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare (BBFAW). BBFAW is recognised as the leading global measure of company performance on farm animal welfare and widely acknowledged as having transformed corporate practice and performance on farm animal welfare. Nicky is a mentor for the Global Thinkers Forum’s long-term foundational mentorship programme, Athena, where thriving women from Middle East and North Africa (MENA) are paired with leading mentors throughout the world. She is also a trustee of the Fat Face Foundation, an organisation that aims to support people in communities where outdoor clothing brand, Fat Face, sources, manufactures, retails and distributes its products
Rory is an internationally recognised expert on climate change, human rights, and responsible investment. Over the past two decades he has played a leading role in bringing responsible investment to the mainstream of investment practice. Among many others, he has devised, led or supported major projects on fiduciary duty (Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and UNEP FI), systemic risks and the financial system (PRI), investor action on climate change (IIGCC, Ceres, CDP, PRI), short-termism (UN Global Compact, PRI), climate change (UNDP), the ESG-related research and capacity needs of institutional investors (European Commission and PRI) and climate change (the Transition Pathway Initiative). He is Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (Grantham Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, Senior Associate, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership and General Editor, Investment Editor book series. He is the author/editor of nine books, over 40 peer reviewed journal articles, over 50 book chapters and many reports and articles on climate change and investment issues.
